In December of 2002 I sold this car. After leaving for the army and having no use for a car, I decided to
help out a friend who was in need of a car. I believe the great friend deal was for $3000, of which I have
received a few hundred. Perhaps the largest blunder in TTR history.
Although I told you this car was junk from the beginning. I failed to mention that it's mechanical condition
was the opposite of it's appearance. New clear corner lamps and headlights, xenon headlights, Cobra R
17" rims, spoiler, shaved door and trunk locks, and performance lowering springs. 2 10" Rockford
Fosgate subs in a custom made box, Rockford Fosgate amp, deck and speakers all around. The system
in this car was very good. Dark Shadow Grey paint off a 2000 Mercury Cougar color code. This car was
the first car I ever painted, self taught mind you. I first painted the car yellow, bad paint job. Then I
painted it this color, bad paint job. Then I painted it again this color, as you see it. I also repainted all the
plastic black, re-carpeted it black, replaced the top and hydraulics, replaced the original hood and all
ground effects.
I bought this car in the early 2000 for $3,000. I was really looking for a 1994 - 1998 Mustang GT
Convertible but these were running $10,000 and higher. Before buying this car I was not a fan of the fox
body mustang. Paul saw this car for sale on the side of the road while making delivery's for Sun Lighting.
He called me and convinced me to go check it out even though it wasn't what I was looking for. First
impressions were not so good, it was yellow with a white top and white ground effects. The paint wasn't too
bad, but the top had a big hole behind the driver's window where someone had broken into it. Both door
locks and trunk lock were also trashed from an attempted break-in. The wheels were the stock turbine
wheels and the interior was junk. The car was originally blue. So the carpet was blue and so was the dash
and plastics, which were all very faded and different colors of blue. The carpet was junk, the white vinyl
seats were quite worn, and the electric top didn't work. Still I decided to talk to the guy and test drive the
car. I was sold on the fox body mustang. Now compare it to what I had been driving, TTR002, and you'll
see why this car was amazing. I had some work to do to make the car into something a lot less 80's and
into something that more fits my style, but I had high hopes for it. The pictures show what I had already
had in mind.
