The car was totaled when a doctor was distracted on his cell phone while driving a new Ford Explorer up to
the light on Golf Links at Wilmot where I was sitting in traffic. The collision was bad enough to push my car
into the truck in front of me, causing damages to be estimated at $8,500. The car was assessed to be
worth around $7,000 so that is what I was paid for it. A wrecker picked it up one day, but not before I could
strip all the valuable parts from the car and make a video of abusing it.
To repair the damage to the front end, I bought and installed a new Cobra hood, cobra fascia, and a set of
new headlights and corner lamps. I also repaired the AC, replaced the tail lights with '98 models, installed
Cobra front brakes, and a set of Bullit wheels and tires. The car was to be painted by Phillip only a week
after it was totalled.
I bought this car on ebay in April 2004 for $2800. I was thrilled to find a 5-speed GT SN95 for so little
money. I flew out to San Fransisco and drove the car home. It was a pretty grueling drive with no AC but I
was pretty happy with the condition of the car. It had minor front end damage but I knew that front the
auction. Unlike my past cars, I had plans to improve this car in a hurry. And unlike my past cars, at this
stage in my life, I also knew what I was doing. The performance of the car was a let down. Compared to
the fox body cars that we were use to, this car felt big, heavy, and weak. I only owned the car for a couple
months, so it I did not have much history with it.
